The head of the Church of England is saying that the government is doing too much benefit cutting and poor-screwing.  From an American perspective, it is refreshing to see a religious figure actually follow the tenets of his religion.  Christ was a radical.  Christianity is not conservative.  Being selfless is not a conservative act.  And caring ( Read more... )

 The myopic, bleeding-heart, science-backed(?), anti-abortion folks are stirring the pot again.  There is a wing of people who want to redefine personhood at fertilisation.  The problem with this is two-fold: Unintended consequences and a religious fallacy.

Well, I have a new icon thanks to this article.  The picture speaks thousands of words about how fundamentalist Christians feel about their all-loving, all-compassionate, omniscient god: They're angry and scared.
